Strawberry Moon
Original mixed media collage
Giclée prints of this original artwork are available to purchase here
Description
This collage has a mythical mystical feeling about it. I think this is a fitting explanation of the energy it evokes. The popular nickname for the full moon in June comes from the Algonquin tribes of what is now North America. They called it the "Strawberry moon" to match the short harvest season for strawberries. The moon is low in the sky so it sometimes gives it a rose colour, caused by atmospheric effects.
